Fuente Latina celebrated its fifth anniversary in Miami on Jan. 17, 2018, with a huge ‘fiesta’, honoring Hispanic media professionals and community leaders who have helped to increase understanding of Israel and the Middle East in the Spanish-speaking media. The event celebrated Fuente Latina’s five years of operation as the only organization that serves as a bridge between Israel and the Spanish-speaking world by providing the press and influentials access to fair and balanced information to report accurately about Israel and the Middle East. The event featured two outstanding Masters of Ceremony: Adrian Criscaut, a TV reporter for Noticiero 51 Telemundo Miami, and Astrid Martinez, a TV reporter with CBS Atlanta and host of “Astrid in the ATL.” The Fuente Latina celebration paid tribute to four exceptional individuals who have helped to promote the work of Fuente Latina. Those recognized during the course of the evening were: Raúl de Molina ‘El Gordo’, presenter of Univision in ‘El Gordo y La Flaca’ and Emmy Award winner; Gonzalo Abarca, host of ‘El Mundo Al Día’, at Voz de America (Voice of America in Spanish); Michael Leven, of Michael and Andrea Leven Family Foundation; and Alex Halberstein, community leader and philanthropist.
